1/3 cup TRUFF Mayonnaise

1 teaspoon lemon zest

2 teaspoons lemon juice

2 teaspoons TRUFF Original Hot Sauce

1/2 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped

2 tablespoons sun-dried tomatoes, chopped

1 tablespoon shallot, peeled and minced

1 garlic clove, peeled and minced

2 tablespoons Castelvetrano or green olives, pitted and minced

2 12 oz. cans tuna, drained

1 loaf ciabatta, split and quartered

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

2 cups baby arugula

1 cup fontina cheese, grated

Tuscan Tuna Melt

If you love a classic tuna melt, your tastebuds will be singing praises for this Tuscan makeover!

Our tuna salad is seasoned with lemon, basil, sun-dried tomatoes, shallot, garlic, and olives, then tossed in a creamy combination of our TRUFF Mayonnaise and TRUFF Original Hot Sauce. Load this salad on ciabatta and top with cheese for a mouthwatering meal!

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  2. In a large bowl combine mayo, lemon zest, lemon juice, TRUFF Original Hot Sauce, basil, sun-dried tomatoes, shallot, garlic, and olives. Whisk until blended.
  3. Add tuna and stir until blended.
  4. Place open-faced ciabatta on a large baking sheet and drizzle with oil.
  5. Add arugula onto each ciabatta and top with tuna salad.
  6. Divide cheese between each sandwich and place in the oven.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until cheese has melted.
  8. Garnish sandwiches with basil and tomatoes before serving.
